The famous cheddar bay biscuits — Bisquick, cheddar, and a garlic butter bath

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1¼ lbs Bisquick
  • 3 oz freshly shredded cheddar cheese
  • 11 oz cold water

Garlic Spread

  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ⅛ tsp onion powder
  • ⅛ tsp dried parsley

Directions

  1. Add the Bisquick and cheese to the cold water in a mixing bowl. Mix until the dough is firm.
  2. Using a small scoop, portion the dough onto a parchment-lined baking pan.
  3. Bake at 375°F for 10–12 minutes, until golden brown.
  4. While the biscuits bake, combine the garlic spread ingredients. Brush over the hot biscuits.

  Chef's Tips

Brush the garlic butter on the moment they leave the oven so it soaks in. Cold water keeps the dough tender.
