Food-processor pizza dough — for pizza, calzones, or doughy bread for the grill

Ingredients

  • 2 to 2½ cups unsifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (¼ oz) instant yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ Tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ¾ cup warm water (about 110–120°F)
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

Directions

  1. With the S-blade in place, add 2 cups of the flour, the yeast, sugar, garlic powder, and salt to a food processor. Pulse a couple of times.
  2. Add the warm water and oil and process until a soft dough forms.
  3. If it’s still sticky, add extra flour a few tablespoons at a time and process again.
  4. Shape into a ball, place in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place until roughly doubled, about an hour.
  5. Shape and use as normal.

  Chef's Tips

Water between 110–120°F keeps the yeast happy. If the dough is sticky, add flour a few tablespoons at a time. The garlic powder in the dough is the sleeper move.
