The nugget-dipping classic, built on peach and apricot preserves
Ingredients
- ¼ cup peach preserves
- ¼ cup apricot preserves
- 2 Tbsp light corn syrup
- 5 tsp white vinegar
- 1½ tsp cornstarch
- ½ tsp soy sauce
- ½ tsp yellow mustard
- ¼ tsp salt
- ⅛ tsp garlic powder
- 2 Tbsp water
Directions
- Combine all the ingredients except the water in a food processor or blender and purée until smooth.
- Pour the mixture into a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the water, stir, and bring to a boil.
- Boil for 5 minutes, stirring often, until thickened. Remove from the heat and let cool.
- Store in a covered container in the refrigerator.
Chef's Tips
The fruit preserves are the whole trick — don't substitute jelly. Keeps in a covered container in the fridge.
